Máme tu opět jazykové okénko. V souladu s názorem Ústavu pro jazyk český AV ČR (Neologizmy v dnešní češtině) je čeština dynamickým jazykem, který se neustále vyvíjí. Zanechává za sebou archaismy a obohacuje se novými slovy a spojeními. Přitom po zásluze čelí kritice, neboť staromilci neradi opouštějí svá oblíbená slova a nedůvěřivě hledí na slova nová. Vedle iracionálních argumentů používají i argumenty racionální, kdy jedním z racionálních argumentů je nežádoucí posun významu slov. Konzervativní člověk si pak nemusí rozumět s moderním člověkem, přestože oba vysloví stejnou větu.
A to je zásadní problém. Jazyk je obecně určen k dorozumívání. Pakliže si nerozumíme, jazyk selhává, respektive péče o jazyk selhává. Ukažme si to na příkladu slova „populismus“.
Slovo „populismus“ je odvozeno od latinského výrazu pro lid – populus. To, co říká lid, je populistické tvrzení. Populistické tvrzení v sobě neobsahuje žádnou emoci, vyjadřuje hlasu lidu. Vox populi.
V demokratickém zřízení volíme zástupce, kteří nás, lid, zastupují v parlamentu. Skutečný zástupce v parlamentu tvrdí totéž, co říká lid, který ho zvolil. Tvrzení skutečného poslance jsou populistická a neobsahují v sobě žádnou emoci. Vox populi.
Vznikne-li Česká strana populistická, bude to přesně ta strana, která bude říkat totéž, co my, lid. Politici České strany populistické nemohou být odsuzováni, neboť jejich odsuzováním bychom odsuzovali sami sebe. Tvrzení politiků České strany populistické nebudou obsahovat žádné emoce. Vox populi.
Je zřejmé, že význam slova „populismus“ se posunul, a to směrem od neutrálního významu k emotivnímu významu. Když jako konzervativní člověk a jako moderní člověk řekneme „ty jsi populista“, jako první máme na mysli „říkáš totéž, co lid“, zatímco jako druzí „říkáš to, co chce lid slyšet“. Neutrální význam slova je tentam, dnešní populista se snaží využít lidu ve svůj prospěch. Populista zaslouží odsouzení.
A to přesto, že právě populista je ten, koho odůvodněně a bez emocí volíme.
