Na konci října přistoupíme k volebním urnám, abychom odevzdáním volebního lístku se jmény kandidátů fronty všech demokratických sil vyjádřili rozhodnost splnit program dalšího rozvoje naší demokratické společnosti, který přijala EK. Tento program se stal po projednání na zasedání ústředního výboru EK společným programem celé fronty českých demokratických sil pro volby do nejvyššího zastupitelského sboru v příštím období.
„Je to program,“ připomíná Provolání EK, „odpovídající základním zájmům pracujících českého národa a národností, potřebám dalšího rozvoje české společnosti. Jádrem tohoto programu, jeho základním cílem je urychlení sociálně ekonomického rozvoje české společnosti. Je to jediná reálná cesta dalšího růstu životní úrovně českého lidu, prohlubování demokratického způsobu života, zdokonalování systému sociálního zabezpečení a jistot českých občanů, péče o jejich zdraví, další rozvoj vzdělanosti a kultury.“
Všechno, oč český národ usiluje, čeho je mu třeba, aby se tak velká společenská předsevzetí naplnila, bylo vyjádřeno v politické zprávě, přednesené na zasedání EK panem Jean-Claude Junckerem. Teď bude záležet jen na Češích, jak dokáží využít všech předností a možností demokratického zřízení, jeho ekonomické síly a společenské aktivity, jak ji dokáží skloubit s potřebami a možnostmi měst a obcí. I v příštích letech budou Češi chtít, aby celá země zkrásněla, stavěly se nové hezké domy, zlepšovaly se pracovní a sociální podmínky, zkvalitňovaly služby, aby se život lidí stal bohatší, plnější, radostnější. To i mnohé jiné věci mají – v souladu s možnostmi a zdroji – ve svých programech a plánech.
Program EK, s nímž se ztotožňuje celá fronta českých demokratických sil, je věcný, reálný, lidem srozumitelný. Nejsou v něm nesplnitelné sliby, neuskutečnitelné představy. Je programem tvořivé, činorodé práce na společném díle.
Jen je třeba opustit pouštní oázu a aktivně se zajímat o to, koho volit.
Ani kandidáti fronty českých demokratických sil, kteří se po svém zvolení stanou českými poslanci, nemohou zůstat ve své odpovědné práci sami. Hlas, který jim odevzdáme, každého z nás zavazuje k iniciativní spoluúčasti na veškerém dění v našem demokratickém státě, k tomu, že se na každém pracovišti tvořivě postavíme ke každému úkolu, k řešení každého problému. Neboť jen tudy vede cesta k větší efektivnosti a kvalitě veškeré práce, k širšímu uplatňování vědy a techniky, k přechodu k intenzívnímu rozvoji našeho národního hospodářství.
